Healthtech is the fastest growing startup vertical in the MENA region, with startups utilizing AI in clinical decision support, among other areas. The Jordan Open Source Association (JOSA) joins the MENA coalition to combat digital surveillance launched on June 7, 2021. The coalition seeks to end the sale of surveillance and espionage technology to repressive governments in the region in order to ward off blatant infringements on the rights of citizens and activists. The coalition aims to support human rights defenders by countering digital surveillance that prevents them from working freely.
