In the wake of the frequent Internet blocking such as Facebook live streaming and other applications - a practice observed since 2018 - JOSA demands once again from authorities to clarify the mechanisms and reasons behind these disruptions, and call for more transparency on how the Internet is controlled in Jordan.

JOSA calls on the government to (1) ensure that these network disruptions do not recur, (2) keep all Internet services open and available to the public, and (3) inform the public of any possible Internet service interruptions. JOSA also calls on telecommunication companies and ISPs to provide Internet access without restrictions and in a secure manner.

JOSA recognises the role of technologies in bringing about social change, and its role in the enjoyment of the rights enshrined in the Jordanian Constitution. All stakeholders must ensure that these online channels are always on in order to guarantee the participation of people in public affairs.
