Mutah University's Future is Open Source

President of Mu'tah University Dr. Abdul Rahman Huneiti said that the open source technologies will be adopted in the university.

The statement was released in the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and the university which is located in Kerak Governorate. The Ministry will provide advanced curricula in Information Technology, training for university members and wider cooperation between the private and academic sectors.

Huneiti also confirmed the launch of an initiative for universities in South Jordan to develop the educational system and to create training centers specialized in IT.

Huneiti stressed that Mutah University intends to adopt open source technology as a university-wide methodology and they are now working with major companies specialized in this field to uphold the level of specialization in order to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the university.
